PDO Pensioner Power – Al Fahal 469 – June 2018! Reply

PDO Pensioner Power!

A new Pensioners Committee has been set up to represent the interests of PDO retirees. The committee, chaired by Ali Al Mandhry, former Head of the Medical Laboratory, has the vision of helping to make the PDO pension community the best in class within pension communities in Oman and the region.

The news came as almost 600 retirees attended annual pensioner gatherings in Muscat, Fahud and Marmul. Ali offered his thanks to PDO management for their “continuous support” and those who had place their trust in him as the chairman.

He said: “We have a harmonious relationship between PDO and retirees. It is a dialogue.

“We are also ambassadors for PDO.”

Managing Director Raoul Restucci said: “PDO is fully committed to having a strong and ongoing relationship with its pensioner community and we welcome the formation of the Pensioners Committee.

“This committee will play a very important role in strengthening the retiree network and representing their views in discussions with the Company as well as updating them on decisions and policy changes.”

Ali, who is joined by Ali Al Ismaili, Shaikha Al Harthy and Rashid Al Alawi on the committee, which will represent members on issues of importance such as financial benefits and medical provision.

A new pensioner booklet was also launched, answering frequently asked questions and containing information on important topics such as the Al Yusr scheme, which has now loaned more than US$10 million to more than 800 retirees.

There are currently 2,166 people in the PDO pensioner family, with an average age of 64.3 years.

Raoul gave a business update at the Muscat and Fahud events and said: “We are going to continue this annual gathering as long as I am here. Thank you for the incredible role you have played for making PDO what it is today.

When Death Just Calls!

August 31, 2017

This week there have been 3 deaths of Omani Retirees and Pensioners – 2 from ex PDO Petroleum Development Oman – and 1 from ex Central Bank/BankMuscat! The first one as I wrote about here – https://majidall.com/2017/08/15/obituary-biography-late-sheikh-salim-mohamed-al-maawali-mauly/

See Photo Below!

I do not know about you but for me when I hear of someone I know has died is to go on an overdrive view of looking at that person and interfacing and interacting with me – or what they call as ‘Helicopter’ view of looking the person from above and what he or she has been to me in my life!

Many a times I come to Acceptance level of knowing someone I know has now died – and will no longer be with us anymore! I come to Acceptance Terms as I will have to Forgive him and what he has done to me – or not done to me despite my desperate appeals and requests which went ignored and unheeded – whilst he looked the other way – or pretended not to hear or see me – looking the other way! The worst kind are those who will add ‘salt to the wound’ by passing crude rude inept remarks about you ‘as why he is ignoring you’ – even sometimes right into your own face! So you get hurt both by the rejection and the unneeded words to you in addition!

Then there are few who will actually come out to help as best as they can or offer good kind words in advices and counsels – and even material help and prayers for you! There are also the few who have made your life a misery by all the time conspiring and scheming plots against you personally in your career and work life – and are always negative injurious to you in front of others! Sometimes even with earshot!

Last Photo Mohamed Saif Al Jabri – PDO

Mohamed Saif Al Jabri

He was more a friend to my brother Mohamed though we worked in the same Department until I opted for Early Retirement! He was always joking teasing type of person – always laughing! Sometimes he laughed more on his own jokes than anybody else!

Like in most peers we had our differences and one thing he told me stuck to me till now – that you cannot go in business because you Majid are a nice trying to please help others – and in business you had to be crooked and cruel hard with no ‘mercy or compassion’! This when we were discussing going into business in Import Export from Tanzania – and you needed to be ready to ‘give in bribery and corruption’- and in PDO you are well known by The Mafias then THAT MR. CLEAN!

Here is to you Brother Mohamed! Allah Rest your soul in Eternal Peace in this world and The Next Ameen – and May Allah SWT Open The Gates for Firdaus The Highest Heavens for you! You are a person who cared not only for  your friends but almost everyone!

I will always remember you for stopping me taking My Full PDO Pension but opt instead for lump sum and Monthly Pension! As per your advice on business by me – today I would not have survived in this world and life without my PDO Pension – though it is like just a snack to me now but people with big trays of Biriyani also want to take and eat my sandwich also!

Sometimes I would advise him not to do certain errors of judgement – but he would be defensive and angry – but the good thing about him was he would later relent and come back to show his objectivity by saying only friends can advise you even if you are angry with them!

Humanity, Kindness and Care – Key Words for Late Mohamed! RIP! Plus Laughter and Smiles!

Addressing this also to my ex Peers and all others – I ask Forgiveness for The Past and let us look and pray for each other for whatever is left now in our lives! You have taken my Yukon I used only 2 years – and still paying – but leaving that to Allah SWT when we meet together and in My Presentation of My Case to Allah SWT!

And to those that could have helped me but chose not to lift a finger and look the other way – May Allah SWT and His Prophets RIP PBUT be with you – Amin Amen!

You will find all about the above here at www.majidall.com

Death! What I Had Said Before!! Generally Speaking!

In all my writings and books I have said the same things – that this world is only a temporary phase in our lives – in the end we will all just die! People will only remember you by your good deeds and the way that you interfaced and interacted with each other!

If you were a good person or not are your actions and deeds for others – and your good behaviours and deeds only! People will either feel sorry that you are gone and pray for you – or be indifferent at best – if not cursing you instead and praying for Eternal Hell Fire for you from the moment that you are dropped into your grave – and The Eternal Hell Fire from there on to The Day of Reckoning (Judgement)! Some people find it hard to forgive – especially blatant injustices and crimes committed against others – especially from those who relied and trusted you in the first instance!

Sometimes even if people wish to forgive and forget it will take them a long time and efforts to do so because of the volume and largeness of the Injustices Dhuloom done to others! You will go empty handed as you came into this world – and you will not be able to take anything with you! All your richness and properties you will just leave behind! All the pursuits we have in life for richness and luxuries will end the minute you die! What is left are what good deeds only that you have made in life! All those things you have appropriated taken from others by your ways and threats will be The Hell Fire for you in front of Allah SWT Our Lord God The Al Mighty!

The East Africans continuously say  – Where there is Dhuloom (Injustices) Allah Removes all Blessings Barkah Rahmah and Taqwa – especially in taking by force from a person who has nothing left in life – but even that car you are still paying installments for is snatched from you to pay a Bank instead who have money already! And all Those Big People VIPs and Associated you begged and appealed for Help and Assistance – The Chairmans – The MDs – The GMs – The HEs – The HHs The Directors The Leadership looked the other way not caring or bothered the least!

“Panapo Dhulmah Daamu Ina Mwagiika” – Where there is Injustices Dhuloom blood eventually flows in Swahili – and proved correct so many times in life! The Reality Bites! People need to realise and appreciate their responsibilities much more with ethics, principles and professionalism! Remember that there is punishment on earth for you – in the grave in your funeral and on The Day of Reckoning!

Try to change now – before it is too late for you! We are living on borrowed time – whilst at any minute it can be snatched from you abruptly with little or no notice at all!

Obituary Bibliography – Late Sheikh Salim Mohamed Al (Maawali) Mauly

Born 80 years ago as on the Birthday 7th December 2016 – DOB 1936 December 7th (Ammended)

Died August 14, 2017

Happy Birthday Sheikh Majid, I wish you all the best and may we celebrate many many more birthdays to come In Shaa Allah – Late Sheikh Salim Mohamed Al Mauly to me on my 69th Birthday June 7th 2017

My Facebook Friend! (He was very active! Always encouraging and supportive!)

Introduction

I was arguing with Big Madam of The House (BMTH) that I have to force myself to go to the funeral in Al Hail Seeb Masjid Bilaal today August 15, 2017 at 10 a.m. of my friend and brother Sheikh Salim Mohamed Al Mauly (Maawali)! She told me rather forcefully – Do not blame anyone else but yourself if you will again fall down – and then cause panic to others to send you to the Hospital!

I have never gone to funerals since the last time that this had happened to me 18 months back! Besides, I do not feel that comfortable to now drive alone – and even if I did – I do not have my Yukon GMC anymore as being taken by the said Court!

You have acute walking difficulties and breathing problems (short breath) on top of being diabetic acute case and in addition to prostate issues – despite the operation made last year! So I stood for sanity and reasons and let my head rule my heart’s emotions for a change!

What I Had Said!

In all my writings and books I have said the same things – that this world is only a temporary phase in our lives – in the end we will all just die! People will only remember you by your good deeds and the way that you interfaced and interacted with each other!

Late Salim Mohamed Al (Maawali) Mauly

It was 11.30 pm August 14th 2017 Monday that I got this SMS from a very good friend and brother from ex PDO – Brother Ali Al Mandhry – on the death of Sheikh Salim Al Mauly!

****

انا لله وانا اليه راجعون

With great sorrow I would like to inform you that our elder brother Sh. Salim Mohamed Mauly, Ex PDO Head of Public Health, the brother of Yahya Mauly has passed away. May Allah rest his soul in Janat Firdaus.

Sheikh Salim (Red Turban) With Ali Mandhry!

The funeral will be tomorrow morning Tuesday, 15/8/2017 at 10.00’am at Masjid Bilal, Al Hail North (Shamaliya).

Note; On behalf of Brother Yahya and his sons I am sending this message.

 Ali Said Al-Mandhry

 ****

Sheikh Salim and I were the best of friends! He was like an Elder Brother to me respected and adhered by us all in PDO and those who knew him! His words were gentle cautionary and advisory – and would best avoid saying anything confronting bad or adverse about anyone – even if he was alone in the crowd and refusing to criticize and condemn anyone! In actual fact he would try to bring outside the norm or character of something or someone that perhaps we forgot to have a look at – or we needed to look at!

Gentle and unassuming – quiet and respectful – especially to his Staff and Subordinates! He would even try to bend the rules and regulations in helping someone! Especially in need and in trouble! He avoided like hell differentials and polarisation of people – and sometimes even name and shame those of us in HR who should have known better!

At one time I was in a group of people where with my big mouth I was criticising him a certain individual as is The Person who caused The Bloody Zanzibar Revolution. After the group end thing he would sidle to me and politely correct my mistaken knowledge and theories – in actual fact gently reminding me that there was one person there ‘who was the Direct Relative’ of the person I was attacking – and gently remind me that the person had respected me and had remained so quiet instead of personal attacks in defence of his relative as he did to others! The man respects you – so please respect him also instead! That was Sheikh Salim for you!

A typical case that best describes Sheikh Salim is this incident in PDO! Those of us in HR had a Duty Rota for a week where we were responsible for Emergencies and Other Issues after Office Hours – 4 pm each day till next starting day at 7am. The Rota was like this. If the Duty Officer was not available then you move to the next week Duty Week Officer. That was to safeguard the system – and in case of Real Big Emergencies more Officers could be called depending on The Emergencies at task!

It was not my Duty that week but I got a call from an Irate Expatriate Wife (British) that by accident she had reversed her car and had hit her puppy dog! I am writing this also so the present Management PDO can compare and contrast how the Ex Retired Pensioners did their works in comparison to the present – no complaints and beyond the Call for Duty! Far and Beyond! Without complaints! Professional, Ethical and Principled always! With no publicity nor advertisements!

She was very angry that The Duty Officer had bluntly told her – he comes from the current stock type of Staff – work like the book thrown at them – I am not responsible for animals – certainly not knocked down dogs! This is not in my Job Description to look after dogs too!  She was enraged mad more that the man was laughing when she had told him – can you hear the dog in pain – as she was talking to him on the phone!

The man was also cursing why the lady had woken him up at 2 am for a Silly Thing like knocking down a dog! By her own carelessness – even if in those days cars still did not have reverse lights cameras! But what she was More Angry about was this Duty Officer suggesting to her to Go Forward and run down to (finish) to kill it off! How could he tell me this? – she yelled!

She was so offended and had made a case about it later to PDO Management – but it put them into a Sensitive Mode because how do you penalize someone Omani who refuses to get involved in ‘Dog Issues’ knowing how Muslims (Arabs) treat dogs – or at least a majority of them!

Meanwhile, the Lady had complained to The Manager on Duty – who suggested to contact me instead as my role was for next week! Wait a minute! It is not about me – but about Sheikh Salim! He told me that even Medical Department PDO did not have a Vet – so the lady had to find someone else outside! She had tried and failed!

Sheikh Salim had volunteered to help anyway and as it was weekend night it was not easy to get someone. Sheikh Salim had found a Vet and took him to the house and sent the poor puppy still yapping into a ‘quiet sleep mode’! Sheikh Salim and I then received an apology from the Crying Now Lady who had labelled all of us (Omanis) ‘You people’ as cruel and heartless people – because of the way she got treated by The Earlier Officer (Omani also!)

That is Sheikh Salim for you! He did not need to find a Vet late at night – nor take the Vet to The Ladies house – and wait till the puppy had peacefully died. I hope The Senior Management of PDO are reading this – to compare and contrast what you had before – and you are having now!

Frankly, I do not have the knowledge of what can be done now in such typical cases – but my guess is probably nothing has changed much! Maybe even The Lady may not call at all – because she knows well in advance what she will get in turn! Dog or No Dog! Injured or Not Injured!

Here is to you Sheikh Salim! Allah Rest your soul in Eternal Peace in this world and The Next Ameen – and May Allah SWT Open The Gates for Firdaus The Highest Heavens for you! You are a person who cared not only for Humanity – but also for a distressed woman even if the issue was not your business – but you cared for even The Suffering Dog also.

The Suppression of Ideas!

Am I Now The Victim????

The suppression of ideas, thought and intellectual effort is a major sin.

We will’ never allow anyone to suppress freedom of thought. I do not wish to go into detail about this. However, I know that there are people who call for the suppression of thought.

Ideas cannot be suppressed!

Our Religion stands for ideas and the intellect not the suppression of thought. Never.

Our religion is tolerant, ethical and receptive to ideas. Every verse of the Glorious Quran calls for thinking, cogitation, etc. It does not call for narrow-mindedness, mental inertia and blindly going with the flow!

Dear All & After Compliments;

A         What Has Been Happening So Far!

It has been a long while since I wrote anything in the format of an article for my websites – and as you know my two columns in The Oman Daily Observer took a natural death metaphorically by the wrong prescriptions of drugs and medicines to a slowly dying cancer victim! Sometimes the end comes quicker than expected after remission even – or when the patient was thought to be recovering by a new doctor – who turned out to be even worse than the previous doctors looking after the sick ailing patient – and ‘kicking the bucket’ for all to see!

Of course, with great cheers and happiness from some quarters determined and for some intentional wanting and willing for the columns to end! And yet still with some still craving for some more articles to come out – and a sort of relief that though the columns have ended in the said paper since November 2013 – see here –   – but ‘sort of relieved’ that I was still posting in my websites my articles – mainly in www.majidall.comwww.majidwrite.com – and opinions and views on www.majidsn.com . This apart of my books in www.myownmajid.comwww.myown-ebooks.com and www.majidbooks.com Plus the new websites for Short Takes (Stories) with mainly Omani theme at my new website at www.myshorttakes.com – and the Road Safety website at www.bethesafedriver.com

One can safely say that with all these websites belonging to me – and recently being that active in the Social Media – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Whats’ Up etc. – the losers are more the newspaper than me – because if there are still followers and fans out there they can still follow me! There are of course those that bought the newspaper only on the days that my articles would appear because they read more Arabic newspapers – and now will not be doing so! And those fans that may be inclined not to buy the newspaper anymore – because my articles no longer appear!

On 12th of May 2014 – there was a PDO Talents Day – and due to the New Management style now in Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) – I was invited to display my books by the External Affairs Department – EAD – under Engineer Abdul Ameir Al Ajmi and through the leadership and guidance of Raoul Restucci – the good man! With a new openness, foresight and pragmatism – of bringing in more fairness, ethics, principles, professionalism all around in the company – its modus operandi and its environment!

Trust me in saying this but I had carried a lot of Excess Baggage and past bad memories and recriminations with me – and with exceptions of going to the PDO Clinic as ‘wife’ to my working wife still there – just avoided the place – until I got the call that they were translating my book (and for publishing few copies) of my Road Safety Books – Being The Safe Driver! – www.createspace.com/4097374 and Behind The Wheel! – www.createspace.com/4655681 – and more after being invited formally to present my books to the VIPS (Dr.Rumhy and Dr. Sunaidy etc) and as belonging to The PDO Family!

This bit made me feel so ashamed and so bad – and I cried in my heart and with a few tears out! Just shows that if you treat people right and ethical – they may surprise you with what they can deliver! And that is Raoul for you as the new man at the helm in PDO!

In all my mind, I had never thought or imagined that I would be welcomed in into this new great Office building – and display my books! I only visualized how I even was always finding excuses not to drop Madam Wife at the office – because of the heartache and pain inside me – mainly attributed by my mentality of not wanting to forget! And unnecessarily carrying so much Excess Baggage with me! See this – https://majidall.com/as-to-why-i-had-left-my-last-oil-company-loc/ and this one – http://majidwrite.com/2013/09/18/a-letter-to-my-heart-by-majid-al-suleimany/

The turning point for me was when HE Dr. Rumhy told Dr. Sunaidy (HE Ministry of Commerce and Industries) that ‘this is his book that he got an award in USA’ – Psychology of Arab Management Thinking! – USA Gold Seal Literary Excellence Award 2013 – and he himself being USA educated – and during those times when I looked after Overseas Training in PDO – as the only sole man in charge! Of USA Dollars 18 million per year – and thank God and my upbringing – never took even a Baiza that did not belong to me! God Is Great! God Is Merciful!

B         So What Else Is New?

Frankly I had imagined that I would die with my Toyota Camry banger – 8 years old – and gone to 190,000 kms – but the surprise was mine when I still got 2300 OMR for it in exchange of a new GMC Yukon! Those who remember my case will remember how bad I felt in losing my Dodge Durango and my daughter Majda took it over from me! The surprise was all mine when I was now able to get this Yukon instead – incidentally also silver coloured! My favourite colours have been blue, silver, gold and white for my cars in my life!

I have also been chatting with my 5 months old granddaughter Sibel bint Fahad on Modi and The Indian Elections – and other issues – and I do not know what babies’ minds think – but I guess baby had to smile and glee to please granddad as if she knew what I was taking to her about! You would imagine she was apt to understand with her mother Oman born but Pakistani too!

As the good wife was heard to ruefully acclaim – I think you are losing your faculties and mind – by talking to baby on such grand big issues – but the irony was that when granny wanted to take baby out of the ‘hearing scene equation’ – baby cried to be back with grandfather! I guess one day she too will be a great author and writer too – if not going into politics instead! Sic!

C         Okay – So What About The Topic You Started? Remember? Being Positive At Work?

Yes we know M – you have the knack of taking your time to come to the point! Perhaps that infuriated some of them – especially the new man? Or as they say – you take your Reader up to the bridge – and let himself decide whether to cross the bridge – or return? That we know of you M!

D         Being Positive At Work!

You know this thing had made me so raving made that I decided to post in the newspaper as below – in the hope that this place especially would be interested – and I can give them ‘a piece of my mind’ in the hope of changing ‘fixed mind sets’ – like Ghandi had said – I claim to be a simple individual liable to err like any other fellow mortal. I own, however, that I have humility enough to confess my errors and to retrace my steps and EinsteinA problem cannot be solved by the same level of mind that created it!

The advertisement ran – MBA Omani HR Management Consultant Expert Advisor UK educated and trained Early Retired PDO 25 years experiences in all aspects of HR Training Development Omanisation etc. looking for temporary part time job 8 to 1 pm or Project work majid@majidsuleimany.com – Muscat Daily this week!.

What Happened?

I needed some personal services at a certain prestigious famous place! The first case was just for a copy of an original document that had been given to me! I had the copy – the place I had approached before in the services needed the original resubmitted. So I went to the place. The good man at the other end insisted on me to reapply from scratch again! I knew this process would take a long time and was tiresome! So I asked him whom I can go to get a replacement Original Copy – The Usual To Whom It May Concern Letter!

Frankly I do not know why this public place needed again the same letter I had given to them before – with the usual excuse ‘we could not find the original in your file’ – or just lazy and incompetent not to be bothered to go and look!

So the good man gave me a contact in the Head Offices – and when I called her she told me – come and collect it anytime you are ready to collect – or can send to your branch (or any other branch for that matter!). In actual fact your Branch can give you this letter!

So I went back to the man – and passed on what I was just told! Again at a professional place – the man said – this is not our job – but the Head Offices only! You have to go there to collect it!

I was contemplating to do this – when a brain wave struck me – to go to another Branch to get the letter – and the Incharge gave me the same required letter within 10 minutes with reference to the copy at hand!

I had another issue of the same place. This time I went to The Manager! The good lady said to me – Yes it can be done! But unfortunately she sent me to the same person like before! I knew it! He said – It cannot be done this way! This time I got angry – and told him off!

Anyway, he still won in the end – by doing some changes to what I had originally wanted! Though in a way you can say almost fully done!

Now you see why I was raving mad!

Do you see the difference?

One is a negative mind that sees everything as a problem and difficult – whilst the other was POSITIVE and pragmatic – that sees a solution in almost everything requested of them!

Some people will never change – they take sadistic pleasure to make things difficult for customers – even if in a Public or Professional place for that matter!

Like I cynically and skeptically always say – What else is new? Things have not changed much – at least I stopped writing my columns!

The mind just boggles – could that be a reason my articles died? That I open my mouth too much to speak my mind? You be The Judge!

Take Care!

1 – It was a very good wise and pragmatic move to hold such a reception. People responded in kind by their coming in – even those sick and wheel chairs ones too!

2 – People always underestimate the Omanis as a forthcoming, courteous, polite, kind, generous,  receptive and quite a welcoming lot – but everyone keeps forgetting they too have a long elephant memory.

3 – The now retired also senior official got the taste of it! After the usual compliments, politeness, welcome and courtesy the comment came in – so we here together as all company retirees as one group – no longer the big man, eh? The man at the receiving end had but just to smile!

4 – I said to myself more on hindsight –  it was a good thing I did come in – it was all good fond memories all back again on the friendships and social aspects of the whole thing more! Had never had and enjoyed myself and had such a good time for a long time now!

5 – It was a bloody shame that there were still some ‘same-type-of-before’ people who wanted to curry favour and be popular by undermining and ridiculing others in front of the current brass – as if they being already out and retirees would make any simple affect!

6 – Do be careful of body signs – it can betray to others what is in you and what you really feel – even if you cover it with empty and artificial smiles!

7 – Sadly so many of the lot could not attend for various reasons and like being very sick and invalid – and those that had passed on and had died! A minute silence for them!

8 – Allah SWT (God) Rest their souls in eternal peace in this world and the next – and open the doors to the highest heavens – Amin. We do not know when our turn will come next. Let us only hope and pray for a long life and health – Amin.

v  9 – The speeches by The Ceo Raoul Restucci and HR Director Mundhir Barwani were highly emotional charged and emotive in making the Pensioners feel great and elated in their contributions and being ‘for ever’ PDO Family Members! This was very touching! I guess or two might have shed tears too!

Honestly and truthfully, I was debating in my inner heart whether I should attend or not remembering ‘my Early Retirement farewell party arrangements’ – please see Why I Had Left PDO! write-up.  Besides, point taken of getting my Pension – but if it all goes to the bank because of my collapsed consultancy business – you have no part-time or project work either – one can be excused for sounding not too grateful in life.

Like I had said in my article last week – That Is The Way It Is! – Quote – A long time ago during the most difficult, hard and troubling part of my life when my business went bust and bills were piling up and landing me in great dire straits and problems of all kinds, I took my car for selling off to avoid more complex and complicated issues at hand. There was this foreign salesman who was very rude and discourteous towards me on willful purpose – just because ten minutes before he had a fight and dispute with another local – and here was a desperate to sell customer ready and handy for pay-back time – he said abruptly to me – ‘This is our last offer to you – do not waste my time – take it or leave it – Unquote.

Life’s twists and ironies when you meet your ex-bosses as same-level-retirees like yourself (devoid the fact they get higher pensions to you – get it full and some have even businesses on the side – and inside you there is this voice that shouts and screams at you – stop being nice to him – tell him how you really feel – and how he screwed up your life and career – but the decent voice inside you also comes out to say – forget the past – let bygones be bygones – forgive and forget – if you cannot forget – just forgive and move on in life!

Besides, it takes two to tango – and like I too have said last week in the same above article – quote – Sometimes it is better to go off like a dog with your tail between your legs – especially as there is simply nothing you can do about it in any way! That Is The Way It Is! No wonder everything is burning all around us nowadays! – unquote.

Then you see other people being greeted with the most genuine friendliness and welcome and you get just Hello Majid – you say to yourself – forget it – not nice to be jealous – just let us hope for more such parties in the future – and hopefully someone will come too to say to him or her as in 3 above!

Besides all the girl retirees surrounded me giving me that compliment – Majid you still have your sense of wit and humour – and you still can make us laugh! Your face still looks young – even if there is grey beard and hair on too!

Besides I am very sure of this – if there was to be an election of who was the most popular amongst the my levels (and even top levels too) and to choose the top 10, I am quite sure I will make the rounds – even if in the bottom 10. The reception and welcome of the general populace was sincere and welcome – with comments like at least we see you twice in a week (my columns) and your books, writings and articles from those who can read English – and from the others nothing less genuine warmth and reception as one of their own lot – and those who remembered his from the Interior long bearded father – and the son who really cared and felt aligning with the people – and helping them and supporting them devoid of his own career path and future – and as in my books, writings and articles.

One from the home town of Manah still working official said to me – for a long time I have been dying to meet you. It is my great honour, privilege and esteem to have met you today! You make us all young Omanis specially proud of you – and you being so supportive and encouraging to us during your time and tenure in PDO – and this we will Never Forget – Thank you and Bless you and your family – Amin.

Then there were those who had cracked old jokes as if time had just stopped in its tracks!

The East Africans Swahilis say always say this – Praise a snake – and it will come out of the crevice to hear more from you! It actually all depends how you handle and deal with people – that a simple party can and does try to change a person!

If you think you are always right, correct and perfect – and the other person is not – then you have a ‘clash of civilizations’ – or something just as similar!

What more can I say?

Take Care!
