Need for People to be Happy! Reply

Need for People to be Happy!

Face – Unhappy!

Why are people not happy despite all their possessions and social status?

The Offices!

In one of the Companies I worked in Oman in Human Resources, my American CEO told me this – Many of our Staff are literally unhappy lots – there may be some pretenses here and there of them being happy in their jobs – but the reality is many are not! Your first task is to find out why the Staff are not happy and find ways and means to rectify the situation as much as you can. If you need any support and or help – The Board is here to support you!

I do not want our Staff to feel that they are coming to work only because they have a family to feed and bills to pay! I need our Staff to feel happy that they are coming to work here – and looking forward happy to come again tomorrow – not scared and worried they will need to come back again to work!

The Homes!

Some months back, a family member had visited us from Tanzania! In one of his observances, he told me in confidence that he had noticed that many of the houses he had visited and had been invited to ‘were material, artificial and not real happy people’! There was a lot of acting and pretensions – but he could see through it!

He observed that back home they were less privileged and had less material things with them – but they went on with life more happy and contented. He said back home few possessed cars and other material things – but in comparisons back home people were happier and contented lots – even though they possessed far lesser material and other things! People were genuinely and naturally far happier!

He was not the only one! There were others who had come and said the same things! I noticed that too when I myself had last visited! Our family members were genuinely happy – with husband teasing and joking with the wife – and vice versa! There were no pretenses to act or show off their care, love and understanding to one another!

Here in Oman there are many houses with one or more cars parked outside – even if mine cannot move for them refusing to renew the Vehicle Mulkiya Registration! There very few had any car parked outside – maybe a motorbike or bicycle instead!

The house was full of gadgets, equipment and material things! There were 2 to 3 Televisions in the house – in some places there only one or no television instead! People lived hand to mouth – but were happy, satisfied and contented – even if they needed or wanted more in life – in the comparisons between the two!

I had also visited ‘quite well off’ and richer families – and even if some of them could be classified as that rich and endowed – but even there people were much happier and contented in comparisons!

I asked both an Indian and a Pakistani friend if these things were also true pertaining them – and they were affirmative! Even those families who did not know where their next meal would be coming from – they were still happier lots!

I saw a film once where this European was lamenting about a Chinese family living in the street – he commented – how can these people be full of cheers and laughter – and are yet still they are living in the streets? Where do they get their happiness from? How can they be happy?

One day my son was lamenting to me – When I am at home here as a kid – you shout at me! My wife now shouts at me! My boss shouts at me! When I am on the road other drivers shout at me (road rage!) I am afraid I may be fined for a traffic offence when actual it is the other car that committed the offence! Tell me Dad – How can I be happy?

We have also heard of The Country and Town Mouse story!  The Country Mouse said – You may have luxuries and dainties that I have not,” she said as she hurried away, “but I prefer my plain food and simple life in the country with the peace, happiness and security that go with it.”

Poverty with security and happiness are better than the plenty in the midst of fear, unhappiness and uncertainty! – The Country Mouse said!

The UAE has indeed set a Ministry of Happiness and led by a young Emirati girl! I guess they have identified the problem – and doing something about it!

There are also issues in Broken Homes, Drug Abuse, Alcoholism, Family Relationships, Respect for Elders – and so on!

Not Forgiving Others in Life! Reply

 Not Forgiving Others in Life?

Can I ask you if you are that prepared to forgive someone who has purposefully and intentionally caused you strife, pain and hurt – and he knows he is doing it to you – whilst all the time you have been nice and respectful to him?

You may have even in life helped and assisted a lot that person – and he knows it – but is not bothered nor does he care! For all that matters – he is just interested to show his power and control over you – to make you feel small, insignificant and worthless.

As his character and nature – he takes great feelings of achievement, pride and control that he has subdued and marginalised you. He has easily forgotten all the good things you have done for him and his family – and those near him!

Even though the Holy Month of Ramadhan and Fasting is approaching – I must admit that for the First Time of my life I will never forgive this person – and we will meet in front of Allah Our Lord God Almighty – and I will ask for my Rights, Haqq and Justice there only!

Be careful of The Punishment on Earth – in your grave – and on The Day of Reckoning Judgement in front of Allah SWT God Almighty Ameen Amen.

 The No Forgiveness Lyrics!

I’ll never forgive you, nor will I forget
Because you broke those promises
You made when we first met
And I don’t wanna be loved by you anymore
No, I don’t wanna be loved by you
So you little darkness, get out of my life
You little darkness, please, I’m begging
Get out of my sight
Because I don’t wanna be hurt by you anymore
No, I don’t wanna be hurt by you

Interfacing with The Leaders!

Late Ex President Gamal Abdul Nasser of UAR.

Long decades back, Late President Gamal Abdul Nasser of UAR (Egypt) visited Tanzania. As the Student Prefect, my role was to coordinate the activities for the School in lining up in the street across our School – and in waving Tanzanian and Egyptian flags! We were told that he might stop the motorcade and stepping out to greet us! Full of hope and anticipation, this, however, did not happen! We had just to accept the strong security around him – and the fast movement of the motorcade – despite his waving at the crowds!

However, I know where I was standing the motorcade had actually come down to a stop – before taking off again. For the first time I locked eyes with the Great Man – he smiled and waved at me! I was so dumb struck – and to this day I am not that sure if I had smiled and waved back or not?

Anyway, after his departure my Uncle got his first boy after a string of girls! He named the boy Gamal (Jamal) after the Egyptian Leader! He was a very happy person – and he wanted the Real Gamal to know about his son Gamal – and why he liked the name for his son! So he asked me – knowing my English was good – to write him the letter!

Frankly, I was convinced that he was just wasting his time as nobody would be interested whatever he named his son after – and wasted time and efforts! First, how do you write the letter and how do you send it?  But my Uncle was determined – he wanted to write the letter – and to send it to President Gamal Abdul Nasser!

I told him it would be better for him to find someone who could write the letter in Arabic – and was indeed overall better – but he insisted English was just okay. After all Tanzania was not an Arab country (at least the Mainland!), and please write to him to say – because of your visit, I named my first son after you!

It must have touched some nerves there – because he got an acknowledgement letter and appreciating of his writing to him directly to The President. The letter was in English – and signed at the bottom by the Great Man himself! This was confirmed by The Egyptian Embassy – who were so emotionalised that they took a copy and put it on Board for Display. There was an address too where my Uncle could write directly in the future! His first letter was via The Embassy – who nice of them had actually forwarded the letter in the first instance!

The Embassy did not just ignore and shred the letter – as I thought they might do! And there was open communication upwards and downwards from The President too for that matter!

Far decades later, my brother Nasser also named his son Gamal (Jamal)! My brother also used to work in the Egyptian Embassy in Tanzania before coming to Oman! He keeps boasting that The President had asked about him at the Reception of the President (in Arabic!)

In the 1970s, there was a meeting at The Diamond Jubilee Hall of the President of Tanzania (Julius Nyerere) then with us students in his introduction of the famous Arusha Declaration (Socialism Policies!). I was sitting in the front row just opposite him! So in a wild manner chat he asked me to introduce myself to him – he was looking intently at fidgeting me! So I did! But the Headmaster asked me to repeat in a louder voice than the meeker one coming from me! After the meeting had ended, he said goodbye to me – and mentioning my name as he bid farewell!

The Tanzania Woman Image!

I was planning to write this article in Swahili but half way I got stuck – because the Swahili I know and speak out is outdated model 2003 when I left Tanzania to return to Oman! There are a lot of new words now being used in Swahili – so sometimes you have to listen carefully to get the gist of the meaning – or ask the Speaker what the new words mean?

One of the topics that I had covered intensively in the start of my columns Between Us Only! in The Oman Daily Observer from January 2003 on wards to 12 years later was the topic of Housemaids! My first articles also in my first book Between Us Only! was also The Happy Housemaid! See image!

I do not consider myself as an Expert or Consultant on the topic! All I know is that we have a Filipino housemaid who has stayed with us for the past 22 years – and we consider her as family more than housemaid – even if she is Christian – but is more Islamic to many people that I know off! We in the Family have also recently like the trend have also started to take in Tanzanian Housemaids from both Mainland and also from Zanzibar! Years have passed – but still yet have not faced any issues! There are also from both Kenya and Uganda in East Africa for that matter!

There was a case, however, when one of them had forgotten her place ‘as Familiarity Breeds Contempt Scenario’ when she mistook the friendliness – and speaking to her in Swahili ‘that there was no boss formal role between us – but that was soon taken care of very soon afterwards! That is also how human nature is always!

Anyway, there is this audio that is going viral in The Social Media where purportedly this Tanzanian housemaid residing in Oman has gone on the air using very nasty foul filthy language insulting her bosses – especially The Omani Ladies without exception – and cursing Oman and Omanis. I would not like to repeat what she says – but you can get hold of it and listen to it if you know Swahili! If you do not know frankly I feel there would be very few willing to translate it to you by the very bad filthy foul language used!

Frankly, I would advise The Authorities to trace the audio and let her prove the allegation that a Tanzanian housemaid ‘was indeed murdered’ by her Omani lady boss – because the maid was very sick but the bosses refused her to go for medical treatment – and still forcing her to work despite her being very sick as it is! How she died is a bit vague – but this is what prompted this person to use foul filthy language against her Omani bosses!

The concept that if one apple (fish) is bad does not mean that the whole bag contents are bad seems to have deluded and missed her! Of course in each basket there are bad apples (eggs/fish) – that one cannot either deny – and it works on both sides of the equation (side!) for that matter!

Use of foul filthy language does not solve anything – it just portrays what type of a person you are whatever and however angry you maybe! It only makes a bad situation even to get more worse – it helps no one and it does not solve anything! In actual fact, as they say in both Swahili and in Arabic you have caused ‘fitna’ (friction discord fight enmity etc.)!

The Holy Quran and The Hadith are both very clear on how to treat the workers with us – and that treating even one slightly bad would invalidate all the otherwise good deeds you have performed in life – even opening for you the doors of Eternal Fire starting in your grave before The Day of Judgement Reckoning when you meet Allah SWT – and that too when you escape The Punishment on Earth – with the great Islamic Principle of ‘Being Bankrupted’ against your judgement in front of Allah SWT!

In one of The Hadiths Abdulla bin Umar RA narrates – When someone asked Nabii Muhammad SAW – How often was one expected to overlook his slave’s faults he was replied – after some silence and repeat of the question – Seventy times in a day!

Most of these housemaids (houseboys / drivers) driven by poverty more than anything else have left their homes family and country to come and look after you and your children and family! Just as you would not like your Office boss to mistreat insult you – the same ethic, principle etc. applies to you in your handling and dealing with those working for you!

And you more the housemaid than anything else for that matter should appreciate and value your job – as it more than take cares and looks after your own family back home! My housemaid with the years with us has built even a villa for her mother back home in Philippines!

There have been issues too with housemaids from other countries – but the East African one has taken up a nasty sour turn that may develop – if one is not careful – to sour relations of ties that have been historical since ages!

Day before yesterday a family member who had promised me some funds to send to build a Masjid Mosque was lamenting to me loudly why he should continue ‘when these people have still hatreds for us Omanis – and see how they think of us and curse us like this? I retorted to him – Brother this is only one ‘irate lady’ – but now how many audios are circulating from Tanzanian housemaids praising and justifying Omanis as good decent kind caring people – as we have always have known to be – despite some issues and problems here and there!

A Joint Investigation should be held between Oman and Tanzania on The Plight of The Housemaids and on The Purported Death Case if is true – and the culprits to be brought to justice – as we always do to Protect The Workers and in Human Rights!

Take Care!

Be Merciful for Allah SWT to be Merciful to You!

“Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.” [Muslim]

“He who does not show mercy shall see no mercy (from his Lord).” “Allah is not merciful to him who is not merciful to men.”

Debt: Relieving the person in debt

Abu Qatadah related that the Prophet said: If anyone would like Allah to save him from the hardships of the Day of Resurrection, he should give more time to his debtor who is short of money, or remit his debt altogether. (Muslim)

Relatives who are needy!

Abu Huraira narrated that the Prophet said: The best charity is that which is practiced by a wealthy person. And start giving first to your dependents. (Bukhari)

Salman ibn Amer reported that the Prophet said: To give something to a poor man brings one reward, while giving the same to a needy relation brings two: one for charity and the other for respecting the family ties. (Ahmad, Ibn Majah, Nasai, Tirmidhi)

Jabir reported that the Prophet said: Avoid doing injustice to others, for on the Day of Judgment, it will turn into manifold darkness, and safeguard yourself against miserliness, for it ruined those who were before you. It incited them to murder and treating the unlawful as lawful. (Muslim)

One Hadith in particular that underscores this message comes from a collection called An-Nawawi:

Whosoever removes a worldly grief from a Believer, Allah will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Judgment. Whosoever alleviates [the lot of] a needy person, Allah will alleviate [his lot] in this world and the next. Whosoever shields a Muslim, Allah will shield him in this world and the next. Allah will aid a slave [of His] so long as the slave aids his brother.

The Art of Forgiving! 1

The Art of Forgiving!

In Memoriam – Late Mohamed Ali Muhsin Al Barwani!

The Late Mohamed Ali Muhsin Barwani

  • The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. Mahatma Gandhi
  • Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Martin Luther King, Jr.
  • Many times, the decisions we make affect and hurt your closest friends and family the most. I have a lot of regrets in that regard. But God has forgiven me, which I am very thankful for. It has enabled me to forgive myself and move forward one day at a time. Lex Luger
  • We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies. Martin Luther King, Jr.
  • Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them. Bruce Lee

Very Beautiful Hadith and Forgiveness in Islam

This is truly a beautiful hadith. Very touching.  Many non-Muslims think our religion is too hard and that we view Allah as only to be feared. Whereas, in reality Islam combines an equal amount of Love, Fear, and Hope.  We are only humans so inevitably we will make mistakes and sin from time to time. Often, we tend to despair when we commit a sin. But Alhamdullilah, our forgiveness is only a prayer away. We don’t need any intercessors. We don’t have to pray to anyone else. We have a direct link. Mash’Allah what a beautiful religion…….A Beautiful Way of Life!

On the authority of Anas, who said: I heard the messenger of Allah say:

Allah the Almighty has said: “O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as its.”

To receive forgiveness from God there are three requirements:

  1. Recognizing the offense itself and its admission before God.
  2. Making a commitment not to repeat the offense.
  3. Asking for forgiveness from God.

Last year, when I had Prostate problems and had fallen into a Coma State in ICU Intensive Care Unit Royal Hospital,  the Doctors had already cautioned my family to expect the worst in that out of 10 Coma State in ICU – only 2 people walk out from there! And I was not going to be amongst that list! Unknown to me at the same time this Bank had placed a Court Case against me for my Consultancy that went bankrupted 16 years ago!

It was said that I was contacted – which was strange as I was at that particular time in ICU Coma State – and also not even before for the past 12 years. People can accuse me for many things – but lying is certainly not one of them!

Today 18 months later I am in No Civil Status – and I cannot even renew my Yukon GMC Mulkiya Registration and still in paying PDCs Post Dated Cheques of 375 OMR from my Pension Retirement salary – and even if not able to use my vehicle! And lots more troubles to me – if I attempt not to pay The PDCs.

In Islam we are told that we will all die one day! From Allah SWT God The Almighty we come and to Him we return – with no exception of any kind! And there is The Punishment on Earth still waiting for us – and in Our Graves Punishment – and certainly when we face Allah SWT on The Day of Reckoning and Judgement!

And The Great Islamic Principle then of The Allah Punishment Law of Being Bankrupted when because of Dhulma Injustice you will lose all your good deeds to The Person you made injustice to – and when that is finished then you will take over all the sins of that same time!

It will be A Great Shock to many when they end up then in Eternal Hell Fire despite all the excellent good deeds that you otherwise did on earth! So Be Aware! Especially if you are in power to change things – and or have failed to try to draw attention to The Situation despite also in your power to do so!

Anyway, my younger Brother – through the goodness of his heart – had approached all those he thinks I had crossed to ask forgiveness for me from those affected on behalf of the Family and I! That is why so many came to visit me at the hospital – whilst I was struggling for my life in the Coma state! You cannot imagine that a small thing like urine not coming out could cause you to end in Coma State in ICU struggling for your Life!

Read these posts too – when I was in Coma State ICU –

The Prophet Dream!

The Crying Lady!

Anyway also, The Doctors told me that I was very lucky to come out from the operation as my all body insides were operating less than 40% – and 2 times they had to resuscitate me – as my heart had stopped beating for some seconds!

Al Hamdu Lillah! From Allah SWT we come – and to Him we return!

Hasbiya Allah Wa Naymat Wa Kyll!

الحمد لله

حسبي اللہ ونعم الوکيل

The Good Doctor used The Metaphor that like they were carrying my body with the funeral pyre for funeral – and they had kept it down – waiting to lift my body for funeral – and I woke up just in time! So you have turned a New Page – and go and ask for Forgiveness from those that you might have upset and or offended – and start a New Life now! Even if it may be difficult now with what is happening to me now in My Life Now!

That Is The Way It Still Is1 Book 55 –

Three days back – a Good Friend had died! He was certainly younger than me! It pained me a lot because I did not have a chance to meet him again after a suspicious rancorous ruinous Job Interview when he was asking me to ‘To Tell Him The Real Truth’ how I lost my job in Abu Dhabi! He was the CEO – and had only to say Okay we will give you a try – or take you! But he was incredibly suspicious ‘that I was not telling him The Truth!

Sometimes people forget that Rizq Your Sustainability – Income etc. comes from Allah SWT – and we Human Beings Bin Adaam – are only Sabaab – That is Cause! But sometimes we think we control peoples’ lives and fortunes – and forget what can happen to us when you annoy Allah God The Almighty by playing God Allah too!

Like I said many times before – It was all Allah SWT Ways to get me into writing – my fate and seal in writing – and in my hobby and passion! If I got the job 99% I would have had No Time in writing – and only started into writing after My Consultancy went bankrupted!

See also this – How I Lost my job in Abu Dhabi!

That Is The REAL TRUTH My Brother – as I had told you then!

And This One Too! Wasted Loyalties!

Above FOR MB!

Dear Late My Brother & Friend;

I may well have misunderstood you then and now – because people some people are good in creating Fitnas and Divisions – sometimes from The Least Expected!

You have a Right To Protect Your Company though – as sometimes my notoriety precedes me in itself!

May Allah Give you The Eternal Peace in This World and The Next – and The Doors to The Heavens Firdaus Amin – and avoid The Punishment of The Grave Amin! I forgive you My Brother and Friend – and Forgive Me Too Please in retrospect!

The Snake in The Grass! Reply

The Snake in The Grass!

The Snake beside you!

February 28, 2017

We have heard of this always. He (or she) is the snake in the grass! What does it really mean?

It is a metaphor meaning a person who is treacherous and can easily betray you without any whims or conscience! Or a concealed danger that you do not see because of the tall grass!

In life we have so many cases of treacherous betraying people – some that even you held as close and as a friend and person that you can trust (or even helped a lot!). That is how my Consultancy went bankrupted 15 years ago – with people still today with no conscience or guilt! And some even still calling you a friend – but knifing you from behind! Or talking evil and bad about you when you are not around!

I do not know about you but for me I have always had a fear of snakes since a child! And at the place we grew up in Mafia Island in Tanzania – there were many snakes – from those in the grass that were less poisonous to the poisonous ones – some extreme – and to the larger ones like pythons and anacondas too!

Actually, I will never forget this scene where anaconda one was killed and in its belly was a dead small African baby with its hands folded as if dying in prayers!

Have you noticed this? How could one so with colourful skin and looks so gentle could really be most dangerous and poisonous? It is very scary!

The Fear of Snakes Phobia is known as Ophidiophobia!

Humans have many fears. The fear of snakes or Ophidiophobia is the second most common phobia in the world. Nearly 1/3rd of adult humans are believed to have an intense fear of snakes.

Most people with Ophidiophobia can lead normal lives as they do not have to confront the object of their fears under normal circumstances. However, for people with severe Ophidiophobia, the mere mention, or an image of a snake in books or on TV can lead to an intense fear response, the reactions of which can even include heart attacks and death.

A long time ago when we were living in this Island called Mafia (She Without in Arabic!) Tanzania there was this man called ‘The Snake Man’! He had the ability to control snakes and if you were suspicious that you had one in your house, you just called him! He would come to your house – just whistle and shout – Here! Here!

In Swahili – and believe me or not the snake would come and sidle up to him! He would then pick up the snake and put it in his trousers pockets! You gave him something for his efforts – if you did not then he would let the snake lose! It was suspected that he would even bring one before in secretly so you will need his services – and he sure made an income and living by this method!

There was one scene that still sends shivers to my skin when they were burying a dead body under a mango tree and this large snake dropped down on the grave – making everyone running out! The snake would not come out – and in the end they buried the body with the snake inside from great protestations from family members!

When we had moved to Qorum Heights in 1976 we used to face scorpions and even snakes – and I remember a case where one of our neighbours had one poisonous one in his baby’s cradle – amazingly it did not bite the baby! They had a tough time of lifting the baby from the cradle without the snake biting the baby! That baby is now a mother with her own children now!

The Dream

Long time ago I had this night mare and I wrote about this before here! I was working in one of the Companies and I was on the first floor. A person had sent me a gift of three cartons! Would you believe what was in the cartons? You guessed it! 3 large snakes as gifts to me! Can you imagine a person in his right mind would send you such a thing?

Fortunately, the snakes looked all ‘pretty skinned and gentle’ until one was being attacked by a small scurry thing! The snake opened its mouth and swallowed it all up! Making me frightened and screaming! I remember shouting to my late father to give me his double barreled gun to shoot at the snake – but my father gave me a big panga (a large knife) to beat at the snake!

Beat it hard – my father was scolding me – cut it up – start with the head – all to me shouting to scarred stiff me – and waking up Madam Wife! Incidentally, the other two snakes both in the second floor – were all still gentle and quiet in the cartons!

The other dream I had recently only was being sent a gift and that someone had the knack to add a small snake along as part of the gift to me for good measure!

I do not know why people send me gifts as snakes?

I Googled and got these answers!

What Does it Mean to Dream about Snakes?

To get start interpreting what dreaming about snakes means, here are the most common meanings associated with snakes in dreams:

  • A snake is a symbol of the unconscious
  • Snakes or serpents indicate you’re in the process of healing and resolving issues
  • The snake is a symbol for an untamed part of yourself or an untapped resource
  • Snakes could represent your intuition or spiritual aspects of yourself; your instinctual drive, what moves you from the depths of your soul
  • Snakes or serpents tend to show up in dreams in times of transition and transformation
  • From the classic Freudian perspective, a snake or serpent is a phallic symbol

Generally, a snake featured in a dream means that you’re dealing with a difficult situation or unsettling emotions in your waking life. On the positive side of this dream analysis, dreaming of snakes could also mean that healing and transformation are taking place.

In the film Kaa The Snake speaks smoothly and gently to Mowgli – as if he was his best friend – whilst all the time coiling around him – ready to eat him! Only he was saved just in time!

kaa  9-the-jungle-book-1967

Some years before my Late Father died we were in a funeral in Our Bilaad village of m man beaten by what they say is ‘flying snake!’ – and his body was as if it was burned alive black all over! Scary really!

They say that the most poisonous snakes are found in the deserts – like the sand viper – most deadly indeed! Can kill a camel in seconds only! My British boss whom I used to clash a lot before used this metaphor to ‘describe us’!

I understand that some Religions (Far Eastern) believe that snakes are ‘good omens’ and ‘to be worshipped’! Everyone to his own! J!

A nice lady had sent me this video! The Snake beside You! It is scary! You can watch it here!

 The Snake Beside You

If you have any inputs – you are most welcome! I would be pleased to receive your interpretations and feedbacks!

Scares even A Suicider!

Apologies for those afraid of snakes – like I!
