Goodbye; Stingo!
Slang for Zest – great enthusiasm and energy!
He had a great zest for Life!
The British use it also for some Beer definition!
It is sad when you see younger people to yourself going before you!
Sitting Centre is Late Saif (Stingo)
My Brothers Mohamed and Nasser on his sides!
Standing his brother Ghaith and Salim Abrawi.
He was more friends to my brothers Mohamed and Nasser! He found me to be ‘somewhat serious type’! 🙂
Yesterday I had received this sad news of the death of a good friend nicknamed a.k.a. Stingo!
If you went around in PDO and at the other places asking people if they know Saif Al Darmacki – the answer you probably will get at best is ‘Not Really’ – the name is not familiar’. But if you instead used ‘Stingo’ most people will identify him! Like the few people on earth more famous by their pseudonyms!
Frankly I do not know how the nickname started or originated – and why they called him that! He did not seem to mind – and was always jolly and full of mirth and amusement! He handled most issues by this approach. I have never seen him angry or unhappy – and even if he was annoyed – he beat you to it by throwing in some joke or mirth at you alongside to make you feel his displeasure – but not showing any visible signs of anger and annoyance!
People like us in Human Resources are normally not used to deal with people that can put you in your place by cracking a joke as he went on! You may decide to be serious or draw his attention to him to be serious – but sooner than later the embarrassing parts will disappear with his sense of fun and mockery – even if it may be directed to himself in the discussions. Trust me you will end changing some of the not too pleasant parts in your Reports – even if they maybe based on Disciplinary issues in the few and rare times!
He was always joking and making fun – and even in serious formal issues you needed to remind him of the seriousness of the issues!
One time was involved in an issue with a British Chinese girl – but he was man enough to apologise to her – alongside with his humour usually directed against himself – to make her laugh and forgive him in the process!
And that is how he handled Life in General – and all issues affecting his life! A few kind of people you will meet in life that had these character and traits!
One time only I remember he was serious to me! Scolding me ‘cheapening myself’ by complaining about some ‘Personal Issues’ at that time! You are wasting your time really trying to talk to these peoples – because perhaps even an obstinate mule would be prepared to listen to you than them!
Goodbye; My Friend! Rest In Peace! May Allah Rest your soul in eternal peace in this world and the next – Avoid the Punishment of The Grave – and Open The Highest Doors of Heavens for you Amin – Amin!
